What Will I Learn in ICH’s Vocational Nursing (VN) Program?
Under the supervision of dedicated, experienced instructors, students in ICH’s Vocational Nursing Diploma program learn to complete important clinical and administrative tasks, including how to:
- Provide basic nursing care
- Administer medications
- Document patient’s signs and symptoms
- Perform therapeutic and rehabilitative measures
Upon completion of the Vocational Nursing Diploma program, graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate command of basic knowledge and principles of safe and effective nursing care by passing the NCLEX-PN exam on the first attempt.
- Demonstrate safe and effective clinical decision-making skills as an entry-level Vocational Nurse.
- Utilize the Nursing Process in determining the needs of the client.
- Collaborate with the client, family, and members of the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for the clients.
- Utilize effective communication skills with clients and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrate culturally competent care by the identification, honor, and respect of each client’s cultural heritage.
- Practice within the legal and ethical standards of the nursing profession.
Does ICH’s Vocational Nursing (VN) Program Provide Hands-On Instruction?
In ICH’s Vocational Nursing Diploma program students are prepared to excel in their future nursing careers through a combination of engaging coursework and clinical labs. Students gain critical theoretical knowledge in the classroom, supplemented with hands-on training in on-campus labs under the supervision of experienced instructors.
The Vocational Nursing (VN) program also includes an externship component, in which students complete an externship placement, empowering them to practice their skills in a real-world environment.
What Will I Get When I Complete ICH’s Vocational Nursing (VN) Program?
ICH’s Vocational Nursing Diploma program can be completed in as few as 62 weeks (full-time program) or 84 weeks (part-time program)! Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion, Vocational Nursing (VN) diploma. Upon completion of the program, graduates will also be prepared to pass the NCLEX-PN exam on the first attempt.
Does ICH offer Financial Aid to Vocational Nursing (VN) Students?
Yes, ICH offers Financial Aid to those who qualify! ICH’s Financial Aid Office assists students in applying for any financial aid programs for which they are eligible, and can provide assistance with completing and submitting a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Can ICH Help Me Find a Job After I Complete the Vocational Nursing (VN) Program?
ICH’s Career Services department offers placement assistance! The Career Services department provides every student with a wide range of career support services, including resume writing assistance, job searching and networking, interviewing skills, and comprehensive job placement assistance.
