CalWORKs

Through the CalWORKs program, eligible students and parents who receive, or recently received, cash aid may qualify for subsidized childcare while they work, train, or attend school. Childcare support is available for children through age 12 (and for older children with exceptional needs) under various stages of funding.

Foothills Pregnancy Resource Center

Foothills Pregnancy Resource Center offers free and confidential support for individuals facing pregnancy, including material assistance like baby supplies (diapers, clothing, etc.), mentoring, parenting classes, and referrals to community resources. While their focus is on pregnancy support, their services can also help ease childcare burdens by providing needed supplies and connections to helpful programs.

Planned Parenthood – Pasadena

The Pasadena Planned Parenthood offers reproductive and family health services, which can support students and parents in planning, prevention, and health care access. (While not a traditional childcare provider, their services help with family planning, sexual health, and preventive care that can reduce stress and support stability.)

Women, Infant, Children WIC

The WIC program supports low-income pregnant women, new mothers, and young children by offering nutrition education, supplemental healthy foods, and referrals to health and social services. While WIC doesn’t directly provide childcare, the support it offers can help families allocate limited resources more effectively toward childcare needs.

CCALA

CCALA connects families to quality child care through its network of Resource & Referral and Alternative Payment agencies. They help parents search for licensed care providers, manage subsidized child care vouchers, and offer training and support to child care providers. Whether you need help finding child care or qualifying for subsidized care, CCALA provides guidance and resources to make it more accessible.
